GATE Cookie Policy
The handful of cookies we set, what each one is for, and which need consent.
We use a small number of cookies. This page lists every one of them. We do not use any we are not telling you about.
What is a cookie
A cookie is a small text file your browser stores on your device when you visit a site. The site can read it back on later visits. Cookies are how a site remembers you are logged in, what theme you prefer, and similar small bits of state.
What we set
These are set by the GATE app, on gate1.dev and on your organization’s own GATE address.

That is it. We do not run analytics cookies, ad cookies, or third-party tracking pixels.
Analytics on gate.software
The marketing site at gate.software measures visits with Lens, GATE’s own analytics. Lens sets no cookie. It keeps a random session id in your browser’s session storage, which the browser clears when you close the tab.
Third-party cookies on the marketing site
The marketing site at gate.software is served through Cloudflare. Cloudflare may set a __cf_bm bot management cookie to distinguish humans from automated traffic. This is a strictly necessary cookie for security. It lasts 30 minutes from the last request.
How to control cookies
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block the strictly necessary ones (dash_session and the two sign-in cookies) you cannot sign in to GATE. Functional cookies are safe to block: you will lose push notifications on that browser and your sidebar setting.
Consent banner
If we ever add analytics or marketing cookies, we will ask first, with a consent banner that has a toggle for each category, and we will respect your choice across the site.
Changes
We update this page whenever we add or remove a cookie. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change.
